What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a complete system of medicine that has been in use for over 200 years. The founder of the principles of Homeopathic Medicine was Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, who ranks as one of the greatest pioneers in medicine. He had a very clear and humane approach to the practice of medicine:

"The highest ideal of cure is rapid, gentle and permanent restoration of health, or removal and annihilation of the disease in its whole extent, in the shortest, most reliable and most harmless way, on easily comprehensible principles."

(SAMUEL HAHNEMANN, ORGANON OF MEDICINE)

Illness is viewed as an imbalance in the body, which needs to be holistically corrected. This is done by looking at the whole person - the patient's physical and emotional symptoms, along with the complaint. Medicines are then chosen to fit the characteristics of the individual patient along with these symptoms.

According to homeopathic principles, homeopathy works by stimulating the body to heal itself. These are mainly made from plants and minerals, are non-toxic and non-addictive. If prescribed it can be used safely alongside prescribed medication and will not interfere with their beneficial action. Many people find that after homeopathic treatment they need less drugs to manage their health, however;

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR GP BEFORE MAKING CHANGES TO YOUR CONVENTIONAL MEDICATION.
